Week 83 Menu

I know it's still summer, but I have a real hankering for some bread pudding right now. Mmmmmmm. Of course, my bread pudding will never be THIS good...


Pictured: Yet another delight from Tartine in San Francisco. They are famous for their bread pudding...with good reason, my friends.

Okay, enough dreaming about bread pudding. Focus, Jane. Menu time.

MONDAY:
- English Muffin Pizzas

TUESDAY:
- Chicken Masala & Rice (I'm using jarred simmer sauce from TJ's)
- Naan bread from Trader Joe's

WEDNESDAY:
- Easy Apricot Chicken

THURSDAY:
- Leftovers

FRIDAY:
- Grill night - hamburgers or hot dogs
- Watermelon (I'm bound and determined to find a good one this week)
- Corn on the cob

SATURDAY:
- Eat out

SUNDAY:
- Orange chicken
- Rice
- Spinach Salad with something yummy mixed in

    I made your spinach artichoke dip today and it was yummy, everyone loved it! I even doubled the recipe cause it was a larger group and split it into 2 crocks. I was wondering if you recommend chopping the spinach before/after sauteing? I just used the baby spinach in the bag. Thanks, menu to come.

  2. Mon: Orange ginger chicken, brown rice, steamed vegetables

    Tues: Pancakes, fruit--probably yummy ripe peaches, bacon
    (as requested by the birthday boy)

    Wed: Taco Salad

    Thurs: Zucchini Parmesan pasta, shrimp, fruit salad

    Fri: Chicken Wraps, oven fries and green salad

    Sat: Leftovers (or sandwiches)

    Sun: Hawaiian Haystacks

  3. cori - I have to say, I think chopping the spinach before sautéing it is a good idea. I never think of it until AFTER I've sautéed, but even the baby spinach can be a bit unruly and stringy in the dip. EXCELLENT POINT! I'm going to go add that into the recipe on the blog. thanks! and I'm so glad it was a hit - yea!

  6. Monday: Carmelized Onion and Roasted Red Pepper Pasta, Salad
    Tuesday: Ham and Swiss Stromboli, sauteed squash
    Wednesday: Roast Chicken with thyme, mashed potatoes, green beans
    Thursday: Crockpot BBQ chicken with veggies and cornbread topping
    Friday: Pasta with feta, sundried tomatoes and spinach, salad
    Saturday: leftovers

    Tues: Chicken Enchiladas, Mexican Rice
    Wed: Chese & Turkey Sausage Pizza, green salad
    Thurs: Italian Chicken with rice in the slow cooker, broccoli, rolls
    Fri: Baseball game-hotdogs & ballpark food
    Sat: Fajitas, leftover Mexican rice
    Sun: Sweet & Sour Chicken, rice, green salad

  8. Monday: BBQ Chicken, spinach salad and potato oven fries.

    Tuesday: Black bean and veggie burritos with guacamole.

    Wednesday: Mahogany chicken wings with pizza pasta salad.

    Thursday: Moraccan chicken kababs with hummus and garlic naan.

    Friday: Left-overs for Son One. Date night for me and my honey.

    Saturday: More left-overs? Pizza? Dunno.

    Sunday: Curry chicken and rice and an attempt at chocolate souffle.

  10. We just got back from vacation at Cape May, NJ ...(Jane I loved your travel stories this summer!)

    This is the plan.

    Monday:
    Grilled chicken wings with hot sauce for dipping; celery and blue cheese dressing on side

    Tuesday:
    Chicken Marsala, salad, some kind of pasta on side

    Wednesday:
    BLT's (still have fresh garden tomatoes, yum)

    Thursday:
    Penne pasta with vodka sauce & our fresh tomatoes & basil

    Friday:
    either eating out ... or tacos

    Saturday:
    repeat Friday :-)

  12. I am late a day and have a short week because we will be gone LD weekend!

    mon: shrimp quesadillas (hubby made them!)
    tues: shroom&swiss burgers, red potatoes and squash
    wed: Apricot chicken and rice (gonna give this a try too:)
    thurs: roasted red pepper soup, crusty bread or grilled cheese and poppyseed noodles
    Fri-Tues: in Big Sky Montana visiting family!

    Jane thanks for getting back to me about the spinach dip, I do think chopping it will make it just perfect! Also, what temp do you use? I baked at 350 but it didnt say on recipe?

    Tues - Vegetarian Burritos
    Wed - Turkey Lasagna, Rosemary Peasant bread
    Thurs - Left over

    Sat - Margarita Pizza and salad

  14. Ok, I'm a day late but, I just finished my menu. Here goes...

    Monday...Chicken Enchiladas, Cooked Carrots with butter and cumin.
    Tuesday...Rotisserie Chicken, Corn on the Cob
    Wednesday...date night for me and the hubby- hot dogs, oven fries and veggies for the kiddos
    Thursday...Chicken, black bean and corn wraps, crudite' and dip :)
    Friday...Broccoli Stir-Fry with Brown Rice
    Saturday...Blueberry Pancakes, sausage links, fruit salad
    Sunday...Chicken Shortcakes (aka.chicken and biscuits)

    Friends and family night bbq at Qwest Field (Seahawks)

    Tuesday
    Salmon (caught in Canada by our friend just a few days ago!)
    Brown rice
    Zucchini with roasted garlic and peppers

    Wednesday
    Real Simple Ravioli (Your recipe, but I add a layer of fresh sliced zucchini and a layer of baby spinach in between the ravioli.)

    Thursday
    Greek pitas — whole wheat pitas from TJ’s filled with grilled chicken, TJ’s tzatziki (my favorite) and greek salad.

    Friday
    On the road for a Labor Day getaway …
