Kitchen Tips: Pizza Cutter Is Back...But Not for Pizza

Since I rendered my pizza cutter useless, it's been relegated to a spot in the back of the utensil drawer. And there it remained until just a few days ago, when I discovered the best use yet for a pizza cutter (and no, it's not for pizza)!

I love Jon & Kate Plus 8. It cracks me up (and makes me eternally grateful for my relatively simple life!). Apparently there was an episode where they showed Jon cutting up the sextuplets' pancakes with a knife and fork, which took forever. Ever since it first aired and every time since, Jon & Kate get emails telling them to use a pizza cutter to cut pancakes, which they now do.

What an ingenious idea! Seriously, I LOVE IT. I used my pizza cutter (now pancake cutter!) this weekend and it was awesome. It would be especially awesome with 6 toddlers. :)

Oh Jane! That is PERFECT and just what I need! I can't tell you how much I HATE to cut up four different pancakes with a knife and fork. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. Duh! Thanks so much. Now I'll think of you every time I cut pancakes :)

We use a pizza cutter to cut up most of the kids food and it works surprisingly well on pb&j, hotdogs, etc. I grew up in Alaska and everyone uses these handy little ulu knives to cut everything up and it's so fast and easy.

I also use a plastic pizza cutter to cut brownies in the pan- works WAY better than a stupid knife! A pizza cutter also works like a charm on quesadillas- but everybody knew that, right?

We do actually use the pizza cutter for pancakes, but for everything else, I use my kitchen shears: nuggets, cheese stick for baby, taquitos, whatever! I have three (cheap-o) pairs from Ikea and I use them constantly then toss into the dishwasher.

SOOO smart! I don't have sextuplets, but I do have twins, this will come in so handy!

I also use a pizza cutter for brownies and bars. Especially if the brownies are topped with ganache and have been cooled!

Probably one of my favorite shows! I also found that a scissor works great, too!!

We use it too! We use it for cutting everything from sandwiches into bite size pieces to cutting spaghetti into manageable size pieces as well.. Best part is you can use it one-handed when you've got a clingy baby you can't put down..
