Roadtrip! Hot Dog Johnny's

Ever wondered what you might find in scenic Buttzville, New Jersey? Why Hot Dog Johnny's, of course! Our last night in NJ we took a beautiful drive up to Buttzville (yes, that really is the name of the town, and yes, it is a TINY town, and yes, they have a post office) to have dinner at the famous Hot Dog Johnny's.

They don't have a menu. We asked, silly us. The menu is hot dogs and french fries - duh, you city-folk customers. The hot dogs (cooked in peanut oil) are only $1 - you can't even make a hot dog at home for $1! The french fries were yummy. You can also get drinks - soda, birch beer (kinda like root beer), fresh buttermilk - and ice cream. It's a fun place to go and it really is in a beautiful spot by the Pequest River.

Sounds like a place Kaitlin would love. We have had to take trips to IKEA lately to get her hot dogs and frozen yogurt! I hope you are having a great trip!

what the heck do you do with fresh buttermilk? Certainly not drink it. If it is meant to be drunk with your hot dog and french fry dinner, I may have to try it. I'm a sucker for new, unusual foods.

Here's what you do with buttermilk. Pour cornflakes into a cereal bowl. Scatter some green seedless grapes across the top. Pour in your buttermilk, then sprinkle a little sugar across the top. Now you have one heck of a breakfast. Sometimes I have this for dinner when the old lady is on a business trip.

dad (hans), the question remains, do people really want to drink it with hot dogs?!?!?! the sign is cool, but doesn't sound that tasty to me. :)

corbin - I want to be there when you do try it! :)
