My friend Maria recently picked these pretty pomegranates and was nice enough to share with us! I've never worked with pomegranates before. I found a great website with tips on how to cut them and recipes. To the pomegranate experts out there, what's your favorite way to eat pomegranates?

As a little girl, I picked these with my grandma off her tree in the backyard. We would break them and pop out the seeds and make the best pomegrante fruit salad! I remember we would all wear our grungy tshirts and do it outside because the juice gets everywhere! But they are one of my favorite fruits...perhaps because of the memories. I'll find it attach the recipe.

I crack them in half and submerge them into a bowl of water...Most of the loose seeds float to the top of the water and you gently work out the rest. They float...how nice is that. Rinse and enjoy! By the way...I still need to grab Lily's croc from you.

You don't know me I used to live in the Arlington Ward and am good friends with the LaPierre's, which is how I found out about your blog. We just moved from California, out there the pomegrantes grow on bushes everywhere this time of year. My kids eat them like candy. But a favorite tradition we have is every year at thanksgiving we always make pomegranate jam. It's the best jam ever!
oh my! how many of these puppies do you have to crack open for jam? I can't imagine, but it sounds good! :)
Now I'm drooling, seriously. I just like to eat 'em plain, but maybe that's cause I'm lazy.
I really like pomegranate jelly. don't know how to make it, but it sure is good. Someone in Jonathan's family makes it every year.
Pomegranates - the latest must have 'health' food - have you ever checked out the price of pomegranate juice???
there sure is a lot of LABOR involved...so not at all surprised it's expensive. :) these puppies are crazy!
