Roadtrip: Savory Utah

Time for my roadtrip report! We had a great time in Utah and of course did not have time do all the things and see all the people we love. And certainly not all the food we wanted to eat! Although I'm pretty sure I still packed on a few with what I did get down...

So here are the savory foods I enjoyed...

The Soup Kitchen: I know, I talked about them last time I went to Utah. But it's just so good. My sister and I got there as they flipped the "Open" sign to "Closed," but they still let us in to grab a cup of soup!

Rich's Bagels: I'm a bagel snob, after all I grew up in New Jersey. But I do like Rich's bagels. The bagels actually aren't THAT spectacular...at least compared to my ideal...but they're good, and probably the best in Utah. What I really like at Rich's are the sandwiches. They have great toppings. Oh, and the cinnamon sugar bagel toasted with honey butter...heaven.

The Store & Meier's Meats: Meier's Meats in the back of The Store has the best best best best chicken salad. Hands down.

Nina's Pizza: Who would've thunk? Thin crust pizza in Provo, UT? And it was good! The best part, though, was when my sister-in-law tried to buy our pizza with a Victoria's Secret gift card.

I'm many miles from Provo, but you're making me crave thin crust pizza! Savory, indeed!

MMMmmmmm Bagels! I, too, am a bagel snob! There are just some bagels that are bad and will never live up to anything we have here!
I found a bagel in Philly similar to your honey cinnamon sugar one....oh my word! SO GOOD! It's probably the only bagel I would eat in all 5 years I lived down there!

Yes- The Victoria Secret gift card thing was funny. So funny. But it was one of those "You had to be there" funny moments. :)

Thanks for coming to visit Jane! I am especially grateful for all the Trader Joe's goods you transported across state lines for me! Did everyone know that Jane will personally deliver Trader Joe's groceries to you if you do not live near a TJ's store??? All you have to do is buy her a new sautee pan and some new sassy VS pjs!

love all your comments! :)

jess - thanks for showing us a great time!

Everyone - if you're in Provo, Jessica took us to a restaurant called "gloria's little italy" and it was AWESOME. I didn't get any pictures so I forgot to mention it!

I'm so glad you posted these 2 posts -I'm in Utah and rarely go out and discover the few good places that are here. I'm going to start hitting these lists!!

I lived in Provo for 4 years and had never heard of half of these places. Bummer! But I'll be visiting in August because my husband will graduate with his Ph.D. from BYU in August, so I'll have to try as many of these as I can while I'm there!
