I cooked something! I really did and here's a picture to prove it. Last night I made Chocolate Swirls (click here to see the recipe). This is one of my FAVORITE cookie recipes...my friend Liz (who is visiting right now) also loves these cookies, so I made them for her. Aren't I the bestest friend ever?
I got the recipe at a Christmas cookie exchange years ago...I have no idea who brought the recipe or what book they copied it out of, but I am forever grateful! If you like chocolate and cream cheese, get yourself in the kitchen right away.

Is Liz Findlay in town??? If that's the right LiZ...Tell her Hi & that I miss her!
Those look really good! I'm making some cookies tonight, but I'll have to give this recipe a shot sometime.
These are my absolute favorite cookies-- I don't what it is about them, the cream cheese? The chocolate ? Or that delicious dough? Jane, thank you for a wonderful week with you and Nate. We love you guys. And again, thanks for the fantastic cookies (and I'm sure Dave would like to say thanks for driving around San Diego hunting for a Sev for him). You're the best. We miss you guys already!
And "hi" back to you Deidra!! I was only in town for a couple days and running around the whole time-- hope to see you next month when I'm back!
I'm going to make these this week. They look amazing.
okay jane...I wanted to leave a comment about your lunch dilemma, but couldn't figure out how to leave a comment there. My favorite lunch while I was pregnant (I have major food issues when I'm pregnant) was grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough bread, yummy! Currently, my favorite lunch is brown rice with black beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream...etc. A little "spanish bowl." Super yummy! Hope this helps!
thanks for the heads up maren - I fixed the blog so comments can be made on today's posts. so weird.
anyway, thanks for the ideas!! :) I need to get on top of the grilled cheese...
Hi again Jane! I know I'm kind of late because you did this post a while ago, but the recipe you posted said to use a 3oz package of cream cheese and I was wondering if you by chance meant 8 oz? Not that I'm questioning you of course :) but I have never seen a 3 oz package of cream cheese, only the standard 8oz. I'm making these for dessert for when we have the missionaries over this week, so I thought I should find out. Thanks!
hi leslie...it IS only 3 oz of cream cheese. I've seen several recipes that say "1 3-oz pkg cream cheese" and I too never have seen that in the store...strange. Nevertheless, 3 oz is PLENTY for this recipe enjoy!
